You will be responsible for leading technical and planning activities while providing direction to a team of engineers to ensure technical outcomes are delivered to appropriate standards and quality while engaging with a global engineering community to identify areas for collaboration and knowledge exchange across the Rolls-Royce Naval Marine portfolio.You will support full product life cycle development and in-service support while also leading and mentoring other engineers on processes, tools, and technical solutions. In this role, you will have the opportunity to travel up to 20% between Rolls-Royce sites and up to 10% customer or supplier travel.You will be doing:Collaborate with engineering teams, internal/external customers, and suppliers to develop control system solutions, including hardware and software, to meet customer needs.Direct a cross-functional team to establish the highest standards of technical capability, quality, professionalism, and teamwork.Lead, review, and approve engineering and process guidance, training and documentation.Lead a team of control system engineers to solve complex problems through the application of acquired technical experience and knowledge.Develop and communicate complex technical and business ideas and information in a concise and logical way.Basic Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering with 5+ years of product development engineering experience, ORMaster's degree in in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering with 3+ years of product development engineering experience, ORPhD in degree in in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer EngineeringMust be US Citizen to be considered for this rolePreferred Requirements:Experience and demonstrated capability in root cause investigation including evidence-based practices.Engineering experience or familiarity with designing and supporting control systems for US Naval gas turbine modules, propulsion systems, or generator setsExperience in the marine industry, covering technical support, technical documentation, problem-solving, Naval standards, and Mil-SpecificationsExperience with the control of electrical power generation equipment.Demonstrated experience with complex control system design and analysis toolsExperience providing technical and professional leadership to a team of engineersWillingness to travel infrequently on a scheduled and unscheduled basis.
