Central Patient Transport DispatcherThe Central Patient Transport Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and monitoring patient transport activities within the healthcare facility to ensure timely, safe and efficient movement of patients and equipment. This role serves as the liaison between transport management, transport staff, and hospital departments. Uses EPIC and hospital protocols to prioritize and assign transport requests.Minimum RequirementsHigh School GraduateOne year experience in a similar dispatching position OR 6 months experience in Central Patient TransportCPR Certification (on the job training and certification)Core Job ResponsibilitiesReceive, prioritize and assign patient transport requests through EPIC.Works collaboratively with the Nursing, Bed Board, Facilities, and Ancillary departments to ensure timely and effective patient movement within the organization.Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer relations skillsTrack transport assignments in real-time, adjusting schedules and resources to meet changing demands and urgent requests.Serve as the primary point of contact for nursing units and transport staff.Utilize EPIC to log requests, monitor performance metrics, and maintain accurate records.Address delays, equipment issues, or staffing challenges to minimize service disruptions.Assist in compiling productivity reports and performance data for Management review.Complete transport trips as needed.Assist with equipment management and movement as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.
