Without a doubt, this will be the most rewarding and meaningful work you'll ever find with a work family that is second to none!What You'll Do Maintain control of the institution to provide for safety and security of the facility, inmates, staff, and general public by enforcing rules/regulations/policies and procedures.Supervise and direct inmate activity in assigned areas of the facility/institution.Assure assigned area is clean, safe, and secure.Monitor and operate security controls, equipment, and computers.Operate automotive vehicles in perimeter security and transport inmates.Conduct inmate counts, security rounds, and searches.Complete required reports and serve on committees.Prevent escapes or incidents which threaten security.Use physical force, unarmed self‑defense, firearms, or other force to detain or secure inmates when necessary.Qualifications High school diploma or GED.Valid driver's license; commercial driver's license required for transportation positions.Successfully passed the correction officer assessment within the past 24 months, or current employee with a prior certification in the position.Probationary period of 365 days.Compensation & Benefits Starting pay of $24.88 per hour (step 1); moves to $25.61 per hour (step 2) after 6 months.Earn an additional $0.60 per hour for 2nd or 3rd shift.Full‑time position.Union: OCSEA.Classified position.#J-18808-Ljbffr
