Overview
As a Loss Prevention Officer, you will patrol the property, respond promptly to alarms and emergencies, deliver excellent customer service, monitor cameras, create incident reports, and perform other duties to contribute to safety and guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Loss Prevention Officer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Patrol buildings, parking lots, pool area, pier, beach access, and common areas throughout each shift.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, owners, employees, and visitors.
- Observe and report suspicious activity, accidents, safety hazards, maintenance concerns, or emergencies immediately.
- Respond professionally to guest questions and concerns.
- Enforce all Pawleys Pier Village rules and regulations courteously and consistently.
- Politely instruct guests who are not following PPV rules to comply with property policies.
- Monitor parking areas to ensure parking permits are displayed and parking regulations are followed.
- Ensure compliance with pool and pier rules, posted hours, and safety requirements.
- Address excessive noise or disruptive behavior.
- Monitor for prohibited activities, including pets, golf carts, motorcycles, smoking in prohibited areas, glass at the pool or pier, grilling on balconies, jumping from the pier, unauthorized pier access, and blocked walkways.
- Report damaged railings, lighting issues, leaks, trip hazards, or other maintenance needs.
- Complete incident reports accurately.
- Contact emergency services (911) when necessary and assist first responders.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service.
- Other duties as assigned.
What are we looking for?
- Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality business, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the resort, including weekends and holidays
- Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record required
- Ability to walk and patrol throughout the property for extended periods during the shift and frequently climb stairs
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds as needed
- Ability to remain calm during emergencies
- Ability to enforce rules respectfully
- Strong observation and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of basic security and emergency procedures preferred
- Passion for providing exceptional service to guests and team members
- Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication, and attention to detail
- Must be able to communicate clearly (both written and verbally) and professionally with guests, coworkers and supervisors
