Position Description
Contributes to the university's mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions

• Analyze patient records, reports, test results, and examination information to diagnose the medical condition.
• Prescribe or administer medication, therapy, and other specialized medical care, including diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of diseases as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
• Monitor patients' conditions and progress and re-evaluate treatments as necessary.
• Examine, collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents through lectures and bedside training.

Occasional Duties
Didactic lectures in topics of General Internal Medicine.Ability to participate in research activities.

Required Qualifications

• MD, DO, or MBBS.
• Completion of an Internal Medicine Residency.
• Completion of, or in the process of completing, a Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellowship.
• Board Certified, Board Eligible, or in the process of completing training to become Board Eligible in Pulmonary/Critical Care.
• Ability to obtain a Texas Medical License.
