Job Description:

IT Manager Senior

Purpose:

Under general direction, directs and leads the delivery of core services; and enterprise wide or complex Information Technology (IT) service(s) to meet budget, technology, strategic, and business goals.

Position Overview:
Austin Technology Services is seeking a dynamic, community focused Senior IT Manager to help accelerate the City’s digital transformation. In this role, you will oversee high impact digital experience programs and services, including user centered digital strategy, holistic and collaborative design, accessibility, digital solutions, the Digital Experience Platform, and the Microsoft 365 Center of Excellence. Working closely with partners across the City, these teams deliver modern, scalable, and sustainable digital solutions-such as applications, portals, interfaces, workflows, data systems, and APIs-advancing a more connected, cohesive, and inclusive digital future for both employees and the community.

This position will lead and support talented technology professionals through a citywide IT organizational alignment, which may include building new teams, programs and services - or reimagining existing ones. You will also guide technology teams and business partners through a comprehensive, citywide applications-rationalization effort and the adoption of citywide technology governance. In this leadership role, you will strengthen cross department partnerships, foster collaboration, and champion innovative approaches that make City services easier, faster, and more accessible for our community.

Background Check:

This position requires a criminal background investigation. If selected as the top candidate, you will need a successful Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) and Financial criminal background investigation (CBI) to be hired.

Pay Range:

$112,600-$144,700

Days and Hours:

Standard Business hours. Must reside in the state of Texas. This position is primarily remote; however, onsite presence may be required as operational needs determine.

Critical Employee:
This position has been designated as a Critical Employee. Critical Employees are considered necessary and vital and support activities that impact City or department operations. This work can be done while at a designated work site or while working at an alternate work location. Critical employees who are able to work at an alternative work location are required to do so. Schedules may be modified, and employees may be reassigned to another area during extraordinary situations or emergency conditions to provide essential services.

Fair Labor Standards Act:

This position is classified as FLSA Exempt. Exempt employees are salaried and are not eligible for overtime compensation.
