San Mateo County Health's Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) Division has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Services Manager I -Nursing (CSM I) in Behavioral Health and Recovery Services. This position has a leadership component and will be part of the Management leadership team, and report to the Medical Director. This CSM I Nursing Manager will provide clinical supervision, consultation and training to the Community Mental Health nurses who provide services to adult outpatient and field-based teams, throughout the County of San Mateo, BHRS.

The Clinical Services Manager I-Nursing manager will provide clinical supervision for the Community Mental Health nurses, participate in the overall management of division and inter-division nurse issues, train and provide orientation to a dedicated and experienced nursing team, develop clear and consistent policies and procedures for nursing practice at BHRS, for necessary standardization of practice, quality onboarding of new staff, continuous training, oversight of practice, and quality control. The CSM I Nursing will Co-Chair the Infection Control Committee (ICC).

The CSM I Nursing manager direct care role, will provide nursing support to outpatient teams, providing psychiatric assessments, clinical case management services, medication therapy and individual, group and family counseling. They will work with acute hospitals and community resources to coordinate clients' clinical care and recovery services.

This is a full-time 40-hour per week position. T his position will have an office located at 2000 Alameda De Las Pulgas, but will travel throughout San Mateo County and out of the county.

Licensure/Certification:
Possession of a valid California license as a Registered Nurse (R.N.).

Education and Experience : Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is;

Open & Promotional. Anyone may apply . Current County of San Mateo and County of San Mateo Superior Court of California employees with at least six months (1040 hours) of continuous service in a classified regular, probationary, extra-help/limited term positions prior to the final filing date will receive five points added to their final passing score on this examination.

The examination will consist of an interview (weight: 100%). Depending on the number of applicants, an application appraisal of education and experience may be used in place of other examinations, or a screening committee may select those applicants whose education and/or experience appear to best meet the needs of the position based solely on the information provided in the application materials. Because of this screening process, all applicants meeting the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination .
