Job Description

The Agency Instructor II (AI II), under general supervision, will be responsible for delivering the Basic Peace Officer Course curriculum to police cadets. This encompasses all aspects of police cadet training to include but not limited to; classroom delivery of any topic in the basic peace officer curriculum, physical fitness training, and any skills training required, i.e. firearms, driving, defensive tactics, standardized field sobriety testing, and first aid. In addition to teaching in the basic peace officer course, the Agency Instructor II will coordinate and schedule other instructors to assist in the delivery and will utilize their knowledge of adult learning theories and learning styles to maximize learner success ensuring overall effectiveness of course instruction.The AI II may perform online and/or classroom instruction, field-based skills training, and/or provide technical assistance in a specialty area. The AI II will use a variety of media to present course material and may assist with course curriculum content, when necessary, to meet learner needs.

Instruct Basic Peace Officer Course - 55%


Prepare for BPOC deliveries - 30%


Administer TCOLE Licensing Examination and provide review of BPOC Delivery - 10%


Fiscal Responsibility - 5%
