Description

The Family Support Division Policy Unit within our Child Support Program is seeking professional candidates for a Program Coordinator position. The base for this position will be located in Cole County/Jefferson City Child Support Office at 615 Howerton Court, Jefferson City, MO.

The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assist in the overall planning, development and administration of the child support program.

• Assist in the preparation of budget documents.

• Prepare legislative proposals for the child support program.

• Complete fiscal notes and bill reviews for legislation related to the child support program.

• As needed, testify before legislative committees on bills affecting the child support program

• and assist the department’s legislative liaison on legislation-related matters.

• Prepare written responses to inquiries from legislators and other state and federal officials.

• Prepare child support program talking points for various purposes and audiences.

• Assist in responding to media inquiries related to the child support program.

• Analyze federal and state laws, regulations, federal policy directives and court decisions r related to the child support program.

• Prepare or assist the Division of Legal Services in the preparation of state rule making packages.

• Prepare Title IV-D State Plan amendments.

• Coordinate development, edit and approve the release of all child support policy, procedures a and memorandums, ensuring that policy and procedures are professionally presented, and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

• Assist in the development of requests for proposals and memorandums of understanding for t the child support program.

• Review and consult with legal counsel on attorney recommendations on litigation involving the child support program.

• Draft or assist the department in drafting written audit responses and corrective action plans for the child support program.

• Directly supervise and monitor the work of an administrative office support assistant, policy unit manager.

• Assist other division managers and department staff, as needed, in all matters related to the child support program.

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 15 earned credit hours in the following: Criminal Justice, Education, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Family and Child Development, Human Services, Counseling, Public or Business or Health Care Administration, Nursing, Physical Rehabilitation, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Nutrition or a closely related field; and

Four or more years of professional experience in protective services for children; self-sufficiency/income maintenance; child support; in-home services; programs for blind or visually impaired persons; Medicaid or other health insurance programs; nursing; health care or health delivery system; pharmacy or pharmacology; treatment and education of adjudicated juveniles; juvenile delinquency prevention programs; or resource, financial or legal investigations.

Excellent oral and written communication skills;

Social Media and other communication tools;

Google Analytics;

Ability to provide leadership and supervision to professional, technical, and related program staff located remotely; and

Possess the ability to adjust to a changing environment and achieve results.

Preferred Experience: Child Support Experience

Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
