This position will be located at 1101 Riverside Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65101. Work hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime and weekend work required.

You’ll be joining the Watershed Protection Section, where science and policy meet to protect Missouri’s waterways. You’ll work with interagency staff and stakeholders to accomplish the goals mission of the Department. You will assist with accomplishing the state’s Clean Water Act requirements in sections 303(d) and 305(b). You will be collecting water chemistry data as well as entering and assessing water chemistry, tissue, sediment, and biological metric data. You will also assist in planning monitoring efforts through the drafting of quality assurance project plans.



Ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license. The job also requires the ability to carry 50 pounds of equipment up and down streambanks and walking as much as five miles a day over rough ground. Preferred candidates will have knowledge and experience with water quality concepts, the proper handling of environmental samples, the use of field meters, proficiency in entry and retrieval of data from electronic databases, and proficiency in computer software such as excel, GIS, or R.

Salary:

$45,072-$54,720 per Year
