Description

Under direct supervision of the Chief Building Official, our Plans Examiner II is responsible for reviewing submitted plans to determine if they meet the requirements of the City of Loveland adopted Codes and Standards. Our Plans Examiner II provides assistance to the development community as well as the public on building code related issues and questions. This job will require high knowledge of the National Electrical Code .

The salary range for this position is $36.06 - $48.69 per hour with a hiring range of $36.06 - $42.37 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

This opportunity will be available to applicants until Friday, January 24, 2025 at 12:00 PM (Mountain Time).

Qualifications

Required Education: High School or GED

Preferred Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field

Required Experience: 2 years Construction or construction administration, plans review, building inspection or other related experience.

Physical Demands

Frequent: Minimal physical effort typically found in clerical work. Primarily sedentary, may occasionally lift and carry light objects. Walking and/or standing as needed and minimal.

Working Environment

Frequent: Exposure to routine office noise and equipment.

Exposure to hazards typically found in general office environments where there is rarely to no exposure to injury or accident.

Occasional Exposure to hazards that are predictable or well protected against.
Occasional Exposure to marginal to moderate conditions that are unpredictable and may lead to injury.
Occasional Exposure to heat and noise along with working outside in the elements.
Occasional Exposure to hazardous conditions that may lead to workplace injury such as working in heights, exposure to fly ash and/or energized electrical equipment.
