Judicial Court CommissionerMilwaukee County Courts is searching for a Judicial Court Commissioner. The annual salary is $101,566. The closing date for applications is October 04, 2026.Job Summary: Judicial Court Commissioners (JCC) preside over Criminal, Civil, Traffic, Juvenile Delinquency and Chips cases. The JCC are assigned to each of the 10 calendars and handle the docket of cases each day.Job Duties:JCC's hear criminal, civil and juvenile cases on a daily basis and make judicial determinations. JCC's preside over the initial hearings in criminal cases, make bail determinations, probable cause determinations, and preside over preliminary hearings.Minimum Qualification/Education:Wisconsin ResidentLaw Degree from an accredited ABA Law SchoolMember of the State of Wisconsin Bar Association and in good standings.Experience:Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in criminal law or civil law.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The Judicial Court Commissioners cover all of the courts except family court and probate court. Candidate must be skilled in analyzing and appraising facts, evidence and applying legal principles with the capacity to provide sound legal decisions. The ability to work effectively and harmoniously with judges, court administrators, staff members, attorneys, litigants, and the general public.Note: This position is unclassified and not subject to Civil Service Rules and Regulations. Appointee must establish Wisconsin State residency within six (6) months of appointment and maintain such residency during incumbency.
