Akima Facilities Operations is seeking USMS Court Security Officers to work in Urbana, IL. Join our team of dedicated professionals by applying today!Responsibilities Enforce the district's entry and identification system.Test and report on Emergency Equipment.Patrol court facilities and grounds according to post orders.Man USMS authorized stationary posts.Provide surveillance on incoming traffic to detect threats before reaching the screening area.Provide armed escort services for judges, court personnel, jurors, and other designated individuals.Secure off-site and remote judicial functions with controlled access and screening.Direct traffic, control lights, and monitor vehicles and pedestrians as per post orders.Occasionally provide courtroom security during hearings.Maintain security presence in courtrooms, enforce laws and orders, and handle found articles appropriately.Report unusual occurrences and important events to supervisors.Monitor alarms, radio traffic, and other information sources; dispatch or inform others as needed.Respond to fire alarms, burglar alarms, and criminal acts.Screen vehicles and pedestrians entering/exiting the facility.Use issued equipment properly.Prevent prohibited articles from entering or leaving the facility.Escort individuals or vehicles per post orders.Maintain necessary licenses, certifications, and training records.Communicate appropriately via radios, phones, or other devices.Monitor equipment, report damages or loss.Perform duties in weather conditions regardless of severity.Log property pass numbers and ensure security of government property.Conduct patrols and inspections of buildings and fences.Issue badges or passes to authorized personnel.Monitor electronic and RFID access systems, respond to alarms.Control access during non-working hours for authorized personnel.Report facility deficiencies and monitor utility systems.Conduct surveillance for unauthorized activity.Support scheduled events and emergencies as needed.Keep activity logs and administrative records.Cooperate with law enforcement, assist with evidence, and testify when required.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent.Be at least 21 years old.Minimum of 3 years civilian law enforcement or military experience with arrest authority within the last 7 years.Complete recognized law enforcement training program.Pass background checks, drug tests, and physical exams.Valid, unrestricted state driver's license.Fluent in English reading, speaking, and writing.Meet medical and physical fitness requirements.No felony convictions or misdemeanors of domestic violence.Capable of performing physical duties in various weather conditions.This job posting is active and accepting applications.#J-18808-Ljbffr
