Strategic Weapons Systems SpecialistAmentum is seeking a Strategic Weapons Systems Specialist who can assist in a SLBM / SLCM-N Fleet Documentation for SSN and SSBN Submarines for our customer in Dahlgren, VA.Like learning about new systems and leading edge weapon systems capabilities? Come learn and explore new technologies, new software, new hardware, and development tools in support of the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile Program. Along the way, advise the Government by researching technologies and developing procedures for new Fleet capabilities. Help design, review and contribute to the Navy's new system.Essential Responsibilities:Advise manage and mentor personnel assigned to technical documentation function.Interface with engineers and Fleet personnel regarding the editing and publication of various types of documents such as Fleet Documentation, Operating Procedures, and Targeting Tactics for the Strategic Weapons System.Oversee development of operational procedures. Track and monitor flow of all documents from inception to distribution of final copies. Identify and correct problem areas as they arise.Provide final quality assurance check for all document deliverables.Utilize appropriate computer software for document text production. Investigate and implement best ways to produce documentation electronically.Establish and maintain electronic and/or hardcopy data library of documents.Generates documents autonomously in support of research and development scientist and engineers.Minimum Requirements:A Bachelor's of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline; or four (4) years of demonstrated subject matter expertise to perform the tasks identified below, which may be concurrent with the qualifications below; or US Naval operational experience at the E4 level or higher.In addition, six years of hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of Strategic Weapon System (SWS) equipment aboard a Ship Submersible Ballistic Nuclear (SSBN) Submarine or Attack Weapon (Tamahawk, etc) onboard SSGN or SSN Submarines. Experience in developing, maintain, and/or using SSN, SSGN, or SSBN Operating Procedures, Standard maintenance Procedures, Casualty Procedures, Corrective Maintenance Procedures, and other reference documentation required to maintain the SWS at a high state of readiness.Demonstrates the knowledge and understanding of the documentation and the strategic, combat and/or weapon system equipment it supports, including targeting, operational, and training documentation.Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET ClearancePreferred Qualifications:Fire Control Technician (FTG) with SSN Tomahawk Experience or Missile Technician with SSBN/SSGN experience in the operations and safety procedures for weapons systemsCompensation Details:US: $90,000 to $106,000The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
