Security Guard - 23-Hour Crisis Stabilization ProgramDepartment: 23-Hour Crisis Stabilization ServicesReports To: Program Director/AdministratorEmployment Status: Full-Time/Part-TimeSchedule: As Assigned; May Include Days, Nights, Weekends, and Holidays, 12-hour shiftsPosition SummaryThe Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment within the 23-Hour Crisis Stabilization Program. This position provides a visible security presence while supporting the program's commitment to trauma-informed, person-centered, and least-restrictive care.The Security Guard works collaboratively with clinical, nursing, peer, and administrative staff to identify potential safety concerns, prevent unauthorized access, assist with emergency situations, and support verbal de-escalation when individuals are experiencing behavioral health or substance-use-related crises.The Security Guard is not a member of the clinical treatment team and does not perform clinical assessments, provide treatment, administer medications, or make clinical decisions.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain a professional and visible security presence throughout the facility.Monitor entrances, exits, common areas, and other designated areas to promote the safety of individuals receiving services, employees, visitors, and property.Control access to secured or restricted areas according to facility policy.Assist with visitor management and ensure individuals entering the facility follow established safety procedures.Conduct routine safety and security rounds throughout the facility and surrounding property.Observe the environment for potential safety hazards, prohibited items, suspicious activity, escalating behaviors, or other security concerns.Immediately communicate behavioral or safety concerns to appropriate clinical or supervisory staff.Respond promptly to requests for security assistance from program staff.Use calm, respectful communication and approved verbal de-escalation techniques when interacting with individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.Support clinical staff during escalating situations while following the direction of appropriately trained clinical personnel.Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with individuals receiving services.Assist in maintaining clear and safe hallways, entrances, exits, and emergency evacuation routes.Assist staff during emergency evacuations, fire alarms, severe weather events, medical emergencies, or other emergency situations according to the facility's emergency preparedness plan.Contact law enforcement, emergency medical services, or other emergency responders when directed or when required by facility emergency procedures.Monitor for unauthorized individuals attempting to enter or remain on facility property.Address disruptive or unsafe visitor behavior in accordance with facility policies.Complete security incident reports, shift logs, and other required documentation accurately and promptly.Immediately report suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, serious incidents, injuries, threats, or other reportable concerns to the appropriate supervisor.Maintain confidentiality of all individuals receiving services and comply with HIPAA and organizational confidentiality requirements.Participate in required orientation, emergency preparedness exercises, safety training, and other mandatory organizational training.Work collaboratively and respectfully with nursing, clinical, peer support, behavioral health, and administrative staff.Perform other security-related duties within the scope of the position as assigned.#J-18808-Ljbffr
