Summary

Cooke County is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our Sheriff\'s Office team as a Patrol Deputy. The Patrol Deputy patrols county roadways and assists citizens in both emergency and non-emergency situations. Responds to calls for service as directed, Performs traffic enforcement duties, issues warning tickets and citations as necessary, directs traffic, responds to traffic accidents, and performs DWI enforcement.Completes offense and incident reports and may be required to testify in court. Executes warrants and non-warrant arrests as required in hostile and non-hostile environments and situations. Responds to animal control calls. Investigates and protects crime scenes, obtains latent prints, takes photographs, marks and records evidence in the chain of custody and deposits all evidence into the care of the agency evidence holding facility. Serves civil process documents and conducts civil standby attendance as required. May respond to assist SWAT situations. Performs other duties not enumerated as required by the agency.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED required by the Texas Law Enforcement Commission for this position.Minimum 2 YEARS experience as a Peace Officer or in a related field required OR an equivalent combination of education and related experience. If assigned to Juvenile Accountability, a minimum of 4 years of experience in a related field required. Possession of a valid driver\'s license. Must be able to obtain a State of Texas driver\'s license within 90 days. CERTIFICATION AS A PEACE OFFICER IN THE STATE OF TEXAS MANDATORY. Must never have been convicted of any Family Violence Offense. Must not be convicted of an offense above the level of Class B Misdemeanor in the last 10 years.
