Work involves providing security and care to incarcerated individuals, ensuring inmate safety, enforcing rules and regulations, maintaining order, escorting inmates, and supervising various inmate activities and programs. Wok also involves providing input into the treatment of individual inmates and the correctional facility population in general through reporting observations to counseling, medical and supervisory staff. Work is performed under the general supervision of a superior with work reviewed in the form of reports, conferences and observations.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust be legally able to work in the U.S.Must be at least 19 years of age or olderMust have a high school diploma or GEDMust be jail certified or receive jail certification within one (1) year of employment in accordance with Nebraska Jail Standards. Seward County will assist an uncertified applicant/employee with obtaining this certification.Must have valid Driver's LicenseMust be fingerprinted at the time of employment and the fingerprints cards promptly submitted to the Nebraska State Patrol for a criminal history search: must not have had any convictions punishable by imprisonment in a federal or state penitentiary for one year or more unless pardon received.Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 poundsAdditional Postings available from Seward County#J-18808-Ljbffr
