Summary
Physical Security Officer
In this role Physical Security Officers (PSO's) can expect to be working in demanding and fast paced environments. PSO's may find themselves working in a wide range of areas to include medical centers, government facilities, hospitality venues and public events. Additionally PSOs may be asked to work with a firearm. The PSOs mission is to protect all people, information and property assigned, while delivering on high end customer service. PSOs represent the front line of our security services.
Delivering high end customer service
Responding to emergencies
Deterring and preventing crime
Performing ingress/ egress control procedures
Investigating incidents
Completing daily logs and incident reports
Conducting regular walking or vehicle patrols
Building and Maintaining a professional rapport with clients, guests and co-workers
De-escalating conflicts
Monitoring CCTV cameras
Performing other related duties as assigned
ACT 235 (current)
21 years of age
Current and valid DL
High school diploma or GED
(1) year experience in armed security recommended
Must be able to pass PAT and ASO course
Must be able to pass drug screen
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient time management skills
Reliable transportation
Excellent de-escalation skills
Proficient firearms skills
Extensive use of force knowledge
Must be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation, urinalysis screening and OPS training requirements
Officers shall maintain their hair in a neat, clean, and combed professional appearance
Beards and mustaches must be clean and neatly trimmed.
Officer's fingernails shall not extend more that ¼ inch from the tip of the finger or interfere in any ways in the performance of duty or with the safe drawing of issued equipment. Fingernail polish is allowed if it does not distract from the uniform.
Ability to work under stress / pressure
Ability to lift 25 pounds
Ability to wear a uniform
Ability to pass Physical Agility Test (PAT)
Ability to use force, up to and including deadly force, when reasonably justified
