Job DescriptionWe, the Callaway County Sheriff's Office, exist to serve all people with respect, fairness, and sensitivity. We are committed to the prevention of crime and the protection of life and property; the preservation of peace, order, and safety; the enforcement of laws, and the safeguarding of a citizen's constitutional guarantees.The Callaway County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) is accepting applications for a full-time Deputy Sheriff position. The starting salary for this position is$52,250.00 annually, or $25.12 per hour and comes with a full benefits package, including free health insurance, two retirement programs, life insurance policy, vacation/sick/holiday pay, and more.The Callaway County Sheriff's Office is located at 1201 State Road O, Fulton, MO 65251. CCSO offers two shifts for patrol deputies: 6:00am - 6:00pm & 6:00pm - 6:00am.Callaway County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.BenefitsPaid Time Off (PTO)Health InsuranceLife InsuranceCareer Growth OpportunitiesRetirement PlanEmployee DiscountsEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)ResponsibilitiesThe job duties for this position include, but are not limited to:Patrolling the assigned zone, which includes monitoring residential and commercial settings, assuring that premises are secured, and maintaining professionalism.Maintaining an awareness of persons who have outstanding warrants and maintaining vigilance for such persons and serves warrants, as required.Serving legal documents and advising the court when such documents have been served.Attending court, as needed, to provide testimony.Responding to notifications of suspicious or criminal activity.Conducting analysis of situations and determining the appropriate course of action, assuring for officer and public safety.Making arrests or settling disputes on site, requesting assistance as needed.Completing reports in a professional and timely manner.Other duties, as assigned.RequirementsApplicant must be at least 21 years of age.Applicant must possess high school diploma or equivalent.Applicant must posses POST certification.Applicant must pass a pre-employment drug screen.Applicant must pass a pre-employment criminal background screening.Applicant must pass pre-employment written, typing, handgun dexterity, physical fitness, and polygraph tests, along with a psychological assessment.Applicant must complete CCSO application.#J-18808-Ljbffr
