Job Summary
PUBLIC WORKS : Performs limited supervisory and semi-skilled manual work involving the: construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, roadways, drainage, and utility lines and systems; cleaning of buildings and other public facilities; and landscaping and maintenance of streets, sidewalks, and rights-of-way. Employees assigned to this classification perform a variety of tasks involving above-average physical effort and operation of power tools and equipment requiring some manipulative skills. Work is assigned and carried out according to oral and written instructions, usually from a crew leader or a field supervisor, and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through direct observation, meetings, and review of work orders to ensure quality and timeliness.
Minimum Qualifications:
STREETS/STORMWATER: High school diploma/GED; two (2) years of experience in semi-skilled manual work involving the: construction, maintenance, or repair of streets, roadways, drainage, or utility lines and systems , or an equivalent combination of education , training and experience . Computer operation and software skills required to retrieve and closeout work requests. Required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Valid Florida CDL required.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
