What You'll Do
• Handle questions and inquiries regarding payments, bond refunds, payment vouchers, overpayments, and electronic payment processing through JetPay to ensure accurate financial transactions and exceptional customer service.
• Ensure daily deposits, balancing, and reporting are completed independently for TVB by accounting for all cash, checks, and money orders received and securely dispatching deposits to the bank.
• Independently complete month-end journals, state vouchers, and assigned month-end accounting tasks to maintain accurate financial records and compliance requirements.
• Provide support to court vendors by processing invoices, reconciling statements, researching unpaid invoices, coordinating vendor setup documentation, and resolving payment issues promptly.
• Manage the KCPD bond ledger by receiving, verifying, depositing, and posting bond transactions accurately in PeopleSoft Financials and Show-Me Courts.
• Conduct financial, operational, and statistical analysis by researching budget activity, monitoring grant expenditures, preparing compliance reports, supporting annual reporting requirements, and assisting with performance dashboards and court data transparency initiatives.
Qualifications
REQUIRES • Accredited Master's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Urban or Regional Planning, Economics, Organizational/Development Psychology, Project Management, Geography, or a related field and one (1) year of professional experience in corporate or municipal finance, research, accounting, planning, project/program management, or geographic information systems (GIS) analytics; OR Accredited Bachelor's degree in one of the fields listed above and three (3) years of professional experience in corporate or municipal finance, research, accounting, planning, project/program management, or geographic information systems (GIS) analytics.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained. Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
