General Description

The Technology and Innovation Director (TID) supports the County and its partners by providing effective leadership of information technology resources that maintain stable, dependable business applications, as well as an information technology environment that ensures efficient delivery of service to supported entities and the public. The TID also provides strategic leadership to the County and its partners, focusing more on enterprise, strategic efforts. The TID focuses on the people, processes, projects, and technology as a seamless system designed to achieve the mutual interests of the entire system. The TID reports to the County Manager’s Office and serves as the primary advisor on all technology initiatives that are most relevant to the county goals and evolving needs, as well as evaluates their impact on work processes. Performs work with independent judgement. Oversees assigned departments and operations, develops courses of action and recommendations.

Essential Functions



Minimum Education & Experience

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science/Engineering, or other quantitative undergraduate discipline and Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in information technology, with three (3) years of direct personnel management and at least three (3) of which are in a senior leadership role or a combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Certification as Government Chief Information Officer preferred. Requires a valid State Driver’s License.

FLORIDA RETIREMENT SYSTEM (FRS) The Florida Retirement System is a retirement plan designed to provide an income to a vested employee and his/her family when the employee retires, becomes partially or totally disabled, or dies prior to retirement. A defined benefit or defined contribution option may be chosen by the employee. Employees are required to contribute 3% of their salary per Florida Statute.

TUITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM The County may provide tuition assistance to cover the cost of tuition and books to County employees requesting tuition reimbursement for courses at an accredited college or university which are applicable to the employee's field of work and/or are of such nature to directly prepare employees for positions of greater responsibility within the County. Salary:

$105,832.34 - $161,037.04 Annually
