JOB GOAL
Incumbents are responsible for supervising students utilizing street intersections to ensure safety and compliance with all traffic laws.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to read and write in order to communicate and receive instruction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Incumbents must complete crossing guard training and participate in additional training classes. Must possess a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Card.
- Supervises children crossing street intersections; maintains safe distance of children from traffic while waiting for mother vehicles to come to a stop.
- Places and removes rolling signs at crossing intersections.
- Reports violations of student behavior and/or motor vehicles to the office; alerts office of incidents requiring emergency responses or administrative assistance.
- Participates in training sessions.
- Positions in this class require: talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
- Incumbents may be subjected to fumes, extreme temperatures, and intense noise.
- Light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 pounds if force frequently, and / or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects, if the use of arm and / or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
- Performs other duties of similar nature or level.

- Monitoring and redirecting children
- Assisting children crossing streets
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

CALENDAR: 10 month
