Level I up to $56,088.00, based on education and experience
Level II up to $61,307.00, based on education and experience
Level III up to $67,437.00, based on education and experience
Full Time /Part Time: Full Time
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday

Position SummaryPositions in this job family provide nutrition and dietary expertise along with nutrition assessment, education and counseling to individuals and groups at the local level. These positions are also responsible for the development, submission, and implementation of plans to provide nutrition education and services to clients within their service area.
Position Responsibilities /Essential FunctionsThe functions within this job family will vary by level, but may include the following:
- Provides direct and indirect nutrition education services
- Evaluates and assesses the nutritional status and needs of patients/clients and develops individual care plans (ICP)
- Provides and/or oversees nutrition/dietary prescriptions and coordinates with health care providers as appropriate
- Refers patients/clients to other health-related and social services, as necessary
- Documents ICP, referrals, and follow-up to referrals appropriately
- Provides nutrition in-service trainings to staff
- Develops nutrition plans when required by state and/or federal program requirements
- Provides community awareness and/or outreach in regard to public health and nutrition
- Being present at the office is an essential function of the position.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and ExperienceLevel IHolds a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in the field of nutrition from an accredited college or university.
Level IIConsists of registration as a dietitian or dietitian nutritionist (RD or RDN) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, and licensure or provisional licensure with the Oklahoma State board of Medical Licensure and Supervision.
Level IIIConsists of registration as a dietitian or dietitian nutritionist (RD or RDN) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, and licensure with the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision plus two years of experience as a registered dietitian. A master’s degree in public health with a major in nutrition or a master’s degree with an emphasis on nutrition may substitute for one year of experience.
Valued Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of current nutritional sciences; skills to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; the ability to prepare and present nutrition education information in individual/group settings, to keep necessary records according to agency policy and procedures, and to promote a supportive work environment.
Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentWork is typically performed in an office setting with a climate-controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise level. While performing the duties of the job, employee is required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires long period of sitting and daily use of computer and phone.
Travel RequirementsApplicants must be willing to perform all job-related travel associated with this position.
