Description
The Human Services Agency is currently looking for qualified candidates for the Benefits Analyst III (BA III) position. Under general supervision the Benefits Analyst III will perform a variety of tasks for recipients of public assistance in order to provide vocational development and job placement through assessment of customer skills and aptitudes and support of customers through to an ongoing employment situation; perform lead work; train new workers; assist in supervisory functions in the absence of the supervisor; and/or perform eligibility work in units such as Case Management Team (CMT), Foster Care, Intake Processing Center (IPC), Regional offices, or the Service Center.


Embedded Program Trainer - Staff Development
In support of the Human Services Agency's strategic objective, the Agency has created the function of the Embedded Program Trainer (EPT) under the Benefits Analysts III classification. EPT's report structurally to Staff Development & Technology Services branch in order to ensure overall coordination and consistency in training practice. They must work closely with their Training Supervisors and Program Policy Analyst to interpret policy memos, plan for update trainings, and disseminate new operational procedures. They also work closely with Human Services Supervisors to support staff across all public assistance programs. Key work functions include:

Qualifications

Department Status : Applicant must be a current Human Services Agency employee with at least six months (1040 hours) of continuous service in a classified regular, probationary, or extra-help/limited term position prior to the recruitment closing date.

Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is two years of experience performing public assistance eligibility work in a welfare department.

Departmental Promotional Only. A supplemental application form must be submitted in addition to our regular employment application form.

The examination process will consist of an application screening based on the candidates' application and responses to the supplemental questions. Candidates who pass the application screening will be invited to a panel interview (weight: 100%). Depending on the number of applicants, an application appraisal of education and experience may be used in place of other examinations or further evaluation of work experience may be conducted to group applicants by level of qualification . All applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination. All examinations will be given in San Mateo County, California and applicants must participate at their own expense.
