We encourage you to apply as soon as possible.*** THE IDEAL CANDIDATE Behavioral Health & Recovery Services (BHRS) is seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful Human Resources Confidential Assistant IV (Part-Time Only, Special Projects) to support the department’s HR operations through a variety of specialized assignments, analytical work, and HR project support. This position plays a key role in providing high-level operational and analytical support to HR Managers within a complex, highly regulated public sector behavioral health environment. In this role, you will support HR operations, data analysis, and department-wide initiatives that require strong attention to compliance, accuracy, and follow-through. You will interpret and apply HR policies, labor agreements, and employment laws; conduct audits and reviews to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and County standards; assist with administrative investigations through research and documentation review; and support HR data tracking, reporting, and analysis to ensure operational consistency and audit readiness. This position is ideal for a highly analytical, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, regulated environment, demonstrates strong organizational and project coordination skills, and is able to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and sound judgment. The successful candidate will have experience in HR operations, HR analysis, or HR coordination, with strong attention to compliance, confidentiality, and effective communication.
THE POSITION
Working for the Behavioral Health & Recovery Services (BHRS) Human Resources division offers the opportunity to support critical HR operations, analytical functions, and department-wide initiatives in a highly regulated public service environment. This position is part of the HR team and focuses on special projects, operational coordination, and analytical support that strengthen compliance, consistency, and efficiency across HR programs and workflows.Working for the Behavioral Health & Recovery Services (BHRS) Human Resources division offers the opportunity to support critical HR operations, analytical functions, and department-wide initiatives in a highly regulated public service environment. This position is part of the HR team and focuses on special projects, operational coordination, and analytical support that strengthen compliance, consistency, and efficiency across HR programs and workflows.

You will also coordinate across multiple HR functions, including employee and labor relations, leave administration, payroll-related processes, recruitment and retention activities, and HR workflow coordination. In addition, you will assist with HR projects and process improvement efforts, support implementation of HR programs aligned with County policies and regulatory requirements, and contribute to a variety of department initiatives as needs evolve.

The BHRS-HR team is responsible for ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and County standards while maintaining audit readiness and supporting continuous improvement of HR processes. This position works closely with and reports to the Senior HR Manager and provides key support across multiple HR workstreams and initiatives

CLASSIFICATION INFORMATION Unless otherwise provided, this position is part of the Unclassified Service of the County and considered “at will” for labor relations purposes.
Part-time extra-help is a provisional classification where permanent status may not be obtained. This position is subject to overtime, standby, shift, and callback assignments and will perform related duties as assigned. This position is non-benefited except for participation in a 401a program with Nationwide.
